The Valley of Flowers and Hemkund Sahib are two popular tourist destinations in Uttarakhand known for their natural beauty, religious significance, and trekking opportunities. The Valley of Flowers is a picturesque national park situated in the western Himalayas, in the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand. It was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1982 and is renowned for its enchanting meadows adorned with vibrant alpine flowers. The valley stretches over an area of approximately 87.5 square kilometers (33.8 square miles) and is nestled at an altitude ranging from 3,250 meters (10,660 feet) to 6,750 meters (22,150 feet). The valley is home to a diverse range of alpine flowers, including primulas, poppies, daisies, and numerous other species. During the monsoon season, the valley is transformed into a colorful carpet of blooming flowers, creating a breathtaking sight. The popular trek takes you through lush green forests, gushing streams, steep terrains, and rich biodiversity.

Hemkund Sahib is one of the most revered pilgrimage sites where man attraction is a Gurudwara built beside a glacial lake offering breathtaking views of the Himalayan landscape. To reach Hemkund Sahib, visitors need to undertake a challenging trek from Govindghat, like the Valley of Flowers trek.

Itinerary Details

Upon arrival in Delhi, you will be greeted by our representative and then transfer to hotel. Enjoy the evening at your leisure or by visiting some famous monuments in old Delhi. Stay overnight in Delhi.

Next morning, depart for Haridwar which is a sacred city and gateway to many pilgrim adobes. Check in hotel and stary exploring the holy city. Visit Mansa Devi Temple and witness the grandeur of Ganga Aarti at Har Ki Pauri. Stay overnight in hotel.

On the next day, drive to Joshimath from Haridwar across a mountainous road, River Ganga and Alaknanda. Upon arrival, check in hotel & visit Jyotirmath which is one the four peeths for saints and sages. As per Hindu belief, Lord Badrinath stay here for 6 months in winter. Visit the famous Narsingh Temple and the Shankaracharya Math.

After an early breakfast, drive from Joshimath to Govindghat (around 22 kilometers) by shared taxi or private vehicle. From Govindghat, begin a trek to Ghangaria (around 14 kilometers). The trek follows a well-marked trail along the picturesque Pushpawati River. Reach Ghangaria, a base camp for the Valley of Flowers and Hemkund Sahib, and check into a guesthouse or campsite.

Start early in the morning for the trek to the Valley of Flowers (around 4 kilometers from Ghangaria). Spend the day exploring the enchanting valley filled with a colorful carpet of alpine flowers, including varieties like orchids, primulas, poppies, marigolds, and many more. Enjoy the serene ambiance, the aroma of the flowers, and the breathtaking views of snow-capped peaks. After ample time in the valley, return to Ghangaria and relax for the evening.

Today, embark on a trek to Hemkund Sahib (around 6 kilometers from Ghangaria). Hemkund Sahib is a revered Sikh shrine located at an altitude of 4,327 meters. It is surrounded by seven snow-clad peaks and a crystal-clear glacial lake. Pay your respects at the gurdwara (Sikh temple) and take some time to soak in the spiritual atmosphere and breathtaking surroundings. Descend back to Ghangaria and spend the evening at leisure.

Begin your descent from Ghangaria to Govindghat. From Govindghat, drive back to Joshimath. Upon reaching Joshimath, relax and explore the town. You can visit the famous Kalpavriksha tree and enjoy the scenic beauty of the surroundings.

After breakfast, check out from your accommodation and proceed with your onward journey.
