Itinerary Details
The tour will begin with arrival in Bangalore city. Post arrival, take a guided city tour with visit to Tipu Sultan palace which showcase the harmonious blend of Dravidian and Modern architecture. Lal Bagh Garden, Iskcon Temple are some of the admired places to explore in the city.
Visit Belur and Halebidu to explore the Hoysala temples known for their intricate carvings. The Chennakesava Temple in Belur and the Hoysaleswara Temple in Halebidu are examples of Hoysala architecture and carftmanship. Drive further to Hampi. Check in hotel and stay overnight.
Hampi is a UNESCO World heritage site and capital of the Vijayanagar Empire. Explore the vast ruins of the city, including the Virupaksha Temple, Vittala Temple complex with its iconic Stone Chariot, the Royal Enclosure, and the magnificent Elephant Stables. Drive to Pattadakal that is also a UNESCO World heritage site renowned for its group of temples. Marvel at the architectural styles that blend Dravidian and Nagara influences, including the Virupaksha Temple, Mallikarjuna Temple, and Papanatha Temple. Stay overnight in hotel.
Today on the fourth day of tour, drive to Hassan which is named after Goddess hasanamba. Later, take a tour of Chennakeshawa Temple at Belur & Hoyasaleshwara Temple at Helebid. Overnight stay at hotel.
Drive to Thanjavur and begin your tour with a visit to the magnificent Brihadeeswarar Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This 11th-century temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is known for its grand architecture, especially the towering Vimana (temple tower) and the massive Nandi (bull) statue.
Proceed to Darasuram to explore the Airavatesvara Temple, another UNESCO World Heritage Site. Built during the 12th century, this temple is an architectural masterpiece, showcasing intricate carvings and exquisite stone sculptures.
Travel to Madurai and visit the iconic Meenakshi Amman Temple, dedicated to Goddess Meenakshi (Parvati) and Lord Sundareswarar (Shiva). This vast temple complex is known for its towering gopurams (entrance towers), ornate carvings, and the Hall of Thousand Pillars.
Head to Chidambaram to witness the Chidambaram Nataraja Temple, one of the holiest shrines dedicated to Lord Shiva. It is famous for its portrayal of Lord Nataraja, the cosmic dancer, and the unique Akasha Lingam in the sanctum.
The last leg of the ruins of South India tour will be at Kanchipuram. The city is known as City of Thousand temple. Explore the ancient temples like Kailasanathar Temple, Ekambareswarar Temple, and Varadharaja Perumal Temple, known for their architectural grandeur and religious significance.
